Lost or Damaged Library Books
I work very hard to teach our students the importance of proper book care, but I also understand accidents do happen. If a library book is lost or damaged by your student, please contact me at kathleen.jensen@guthrieps.net or 405-282-5928. I will work with you to resolve any issue. If the book is damaged, please contact me as soon as possible, as some books I may be able to repair, while others may require replacement. I will make every effort to repair the book first before requesting a replacement. If a book is lost, remind your child to check the top 10 places library books like to hide, and give it at least two weeks before calling it lost for good. Library books often turn up in the strangest places, so give it time. If you e-mail me, I would also be glad to give you the title and even send you a cover art picture (if available) to help you in the hunt.
If the book needs replacement, it can be replaced several ways: You may pay for it several ways (please call for details), replace it with the same book, replace it with a similar book of the same value, replace it with a used copy in good condition (Amazon.com has penny used books for $3.99 shipping, as long as they are hardback that is a perfectly acceptable way to replace the book). I don't care what you pay for the replacement as long as I can put the book back on the library shelf for other students to use.
